David Nathanson

Attorney Nathanson has specialized in post-conviction criminal defense since 1997. He has also provided representation in trial-level cases as minor as trespassing and as serious as double-murder. He was a solo practitioner from 1997 until 2001, when he joined the Committee for Public Counsel Services as a staff attorney in the Criminal Appeals Unit of the Private Counsel Division. In 2005, he became the only public defender in the history of the Massachusetts public defender's office to win a case in the United States Supreme Court.

Eva Jellison

Eva Jellison (she, her, hers) is a criminal defense attorney and partner at Jellison & Nathanson, LLP.  She represents adults and juveniles in post-conviction and post-adjudication matters, and in related Title IX and other school disciplinary matters. She has particular experience in criminal and juvenile appeals, motions for new trial, and motions for post-conviction forensic testing.

Matthew Malm

Matthew Malm has been involved in criminal defense since 2008 when he worked as an intern for the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS). While interning at CPCS, he developed an interest in post-conviction litigation and pursued this interest throughout law school—working, among other places, at the Massachusetts Superior Court, the Ohio Supreme Court, and the Appeals Unit at CPCS. This path eventually led him to our prior firm, where he started working soon after graduating from law school in 2011.

Danya Fullerton

Danya Fullerton is a senior associate at Jellison & Nathanson. Attorney Fullerton has experience in matters ranging from assault and battery and operating under the influence to assisting in high-profile cases such as the defense of James “Whitey” Bulger and Tarek Mehanna. She also helped win the leading Massachusetts case of Commonwealth v. White, in which the Supreme Judicial Court limited the search of cell phones and text messages.

Myles Manlapaz

Myles Manlapaz (he/him) is an associate at Jellison & Nathanson, LLP. He represents clients in post-conviction and appellate proceedings following criminal convictions in Massachusetts District Courts. Myles graduated with honors from New England Law | Boston where he completed judicial internships with justices at the Boston Municipal Court, the Massachusetts Appeals Court, and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Shayla Mombeleur

Shayla Mombeleur

Shayla J. Mombeleur is the lead trial associate at Jellison & Nathanson. Attorney Mombeleur helps lead the trial practice arm of the firm and also brings her experience as a trial attorney and creativity to support our general post-conviction litigation practice. Attorney Mombeleur joined J&N in 2026 after spending three years defending federal white collar federal cases and state criminal cases at Todd & Weld. Prior to that, she spent five years as a public defender with the Committee for Public Counsel Services where she defended clients facing felony and misdemeanor charges from arrest to final disposition. An active bar leader, she currently serves as chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and is a member of the Association’s Executive Management Board.
